Giveaway Alert! Win a New Year's Eve look featuring COVERGIRL Colorlicious Lipstick & Rent the Runway

Sponsored

Do you usually dress up for New Year's Eve? I'd like to say that every day is the perfect day to wear head-to-toe sequins and other fabulousness, but let's face it: People will probably stare at you. Especially if you wear them on a Wednesday. Or on a public bus. Unless that Wednesday and bus ride are happening on New Year's Eve, in which case the sky's the limit for fabulousness!

COVERGIRL recently launched a new product line, Colorlicious Lipsticks. These pretty babies come in a whopping 36 shades— think smooth nudes, rich reds, yummy plums, luscious pinks. Whether you're planning on glamming it up for New Year's Eve or just chilling at home in your pajamas, there's bound to be a Colorlicious lippie that will suit your look! Look for them at your local Walmart.

Speaking of glamming it up, have you heard of Rent the Runway? It's a website that allows you to rent designer dresses and accessories for four or eight days. My collection of glitzy designer duds is relatively small because (a) I only attend formal events once in a while, and (b) OMG, student loans are crushing me. Thus, Rent the Runway is perfect for someone like me—it's an easy way to grab something awesome to wear just for a special occasion (like New Year's Eve... hint hint.) Today I thought I'd share a few of my favorite New Year's Eve gown picks from Rent the Runway and give you all a chance to win a Colorlicious Lipstick AND a Rent the Runway gift card to help you complete your own NYE look! Woo-hoo!

COCKTAIL DRESSES

Badgley Mischka Midnight Glamour Dress (Left, rentals from $35):
Something about this dress just screams "New Year's Eve" at me. Is it the gorgeous midnight blue color? Or the sexy plunging neckline? I think it would make a fabulous choice, in any case!

Slate & Willow Quinn Glitter Dress (Right, rentals from $30):
I like this dress because it's glitzy, but still sort of casual. Have you ever gone to a party where you felt overdressed? It's happened to me (so glam I can't even handle it, I guess) and I feel like this dress wouldn't look out of place at a casual or semi-formal function.

FORMAL DRESSES

Badgley Mischka Forbidden Territory Gown (Left, rentals from $70):
This is a classic, classy gown, and let's face it—it's probably warmer than wearing a tube top. It's December, guys!

Marchesa Notte Precision Gown (Right, $195 rental):
So glamorous I can't even handle it. I can't think of any occasions I've attended recently that would merit such fancy attire, but if I ever find myself invited to one then this is definitely what I'm wearing.

I mentioned that Rent the Runway has accessories too, right? Here are a few of my favorite bags to complete your New Year's Eve look:

Franchi Suit and Tie Clutch (Left, $15 rental):
Cute, classy, and slightly more interesting than a plain black clutch, eh?

kate spade new york accessories Night Owl Shoulder Bag (Center, $15 rental):
Who says I don't give a hoot about accessorizing?

Lauren Merkin Lucy Glitter Clutch (Right, $15 rental):
Glitter. Glitter. Glitter. Glitter.

As for my COVERGIRL Colorlicious lipstick choice, I went for shade 295, Succulent Cherry.

This is a classic, sheer (but buildable) red. Hard to go wrong with a red lip, I say! The formula is very moisturizing—it actually feels more like a tinted balm than a traditional lipstick to me, but it's more pigmented than your typical pigmented balm.

Swatches:

Left: Natural light - Right: Indoor light

  10. I don't think I own any Cover Girl lipsticks. The color you chose is pretty though. I always want to do something cool and fancy on NYE and never end up doing much besides going out to dinner haha

  11. I really like the color you picked. Sheer reds give you the best of both worlds. It's a fun color, but easy to wear at the same time!

  14. Exactly! Super bold and opaque reds are really fun too, but I always get nervous about smearing them all over my face by accident and looking crazy. :P

  15. I was debating between this one and Sweetheart Blush, but Succulent Cherry won out in the end. Too many choices. Anyway, good luck! :)
