Weekly Poll: Party on, Wayne!

Happy Wednesday, everybody! It's snowing here. I'm one of those bitter people who hates snow, so I'm hiding indoors right now. Sobcrysob.

This week's question isn't about snow, but it is about the current season...

Will you be hosting a holiday party this year? If not, would you enjoy hosting one if you had the space and resources?

I actually love throwing parties. Not massive ones, but little get-togethers with a dozen or so people and tons of food. This isn't something I do often due to space constraints, but if I had more room? I'd totally be throwing a small holiday party. I was talking to my dad the other day, and apparently his partner REALLY wants to throw a party this year. He was telling me this with a serious grimace on his face—what, don't like hosting? I guess it's not for everyone. I'll admit that I don't like cleaning up after a party, but that's why I make all the food and tell Stan his job is to clean up afterwards, buahahaaha.

How about you? Would you rather host a party, attend someone else's, or hide indoors like I'm doing at the moment?

  1. I'm not attending any holiday parties (other than ones with family), but I think it would be fun to host one! My apartment is way too small right now, but once I move into a house it's definitely something I would enjoy doing.

  2. Does having my sister and her husband over for dinner count as hosting? If yes, then YES!

  3. That's basically where I'm at. I've had a couple of small dinner parties in my apartment (max 6 or 7 people) but beyond that, there's just no room. When I lived in a rented house I hosted a dinner party for 30 people once though!

  5. I would love to host a holiday party! Usually, I end up singing in Christmas concerts and going to so many concerts during the holidays that it takes up all of my available time. I don't mind at all though because that's really my favorite part of the holidays.

  6. I would rather go to a party than host one. Having a few people over is one thing but I get really stressed out hosting parties. I feel like I don't get to enjoy myself because I'm too busy doing a bunch of different things.

  7. Sounds like you're still being pretty festive! This is bringing back memories of being the show choir as a teenager (lol) because we would do a bunch of holiday performances for nursing homes and stuff. Probably not the same kind of thing you're doing, but fun! :)

  8. Very true, very true. That's part of the reason I like to keep mine small - less upkeep!

I love hosting parties! But casual ones where I can make whatever kind of food I want. I like going to parties and bringing food. I like staying home and hiding while eating food. Hmm... sounds like I like any fun excuse to eat! Yay, PARTIES!

  10. Sounds like you like... food! Haha. I've never hosted a really formal party, honestly - I did host and cook for a couple of very large holiday dinners (30-ish people) but we did it up buffet style because it would be totally nuts to try and pass the potatoes with that many, lol.
