Weekly Poll | The Tubes of Yesteryear

Happy Wednesday, everybody!

This week's question was inspired by nostalgia. I recently got my hands on a perfume that was a favorite of mine when I was younger, which got me thinking...

Do you remember what your skincare and/or makeup routine consisted of ~10 years ago? If you do, which products did you use regularly?

Strangely enough, I find myself remembering scented things (perfume, shampoo etc.) I used even 20 years ago with great clarity, but I struggle to remember what I moisturized my face with every day. Which is funny, considering how much thought I give to those things now. I was incredibly broke in my early 20s, so I think a lot of my beauty routine consisted of "What's on sale at CVS this month?" I definitely remember using Cetaphil as a cleanser though. The brand name version, because the store brand equivalent broke me out. Small luxuries?

How about you? How much of your former beauty routines do you remember?

  1. haha I used a lot of scented things too like VS body sprays and lotions. For skincare...I used Olay the original hahahahha my mom has used it her whole life but I've moved on from it. For face cleanser I used the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash..the orange gel.

  2. My mom definitely had the classic Olay way back when too. She started buying Clinique instead at one point and later Philosophy. Why do I remember my mom's skincare routine better than my own? Haha!

  3. I didn't really know tons about makeup then either. The only thing I really knew how to use was liquid eyeliner, but that's because I went through my phase of excessive racoon black eyeliner early, lol. For a while in my teens I was wearing my mom's reject foundation, which probably was too light for me. I'm sure I looked GREAT!

  4. I got a bunch of my mom's reject stuff too. Lipsticks that looked unflattering on me, and powders that were too light as well! Oh well. We know better now!
