Weekly Poll | Consumerism Lightning Round

Happy Wednesday, everybody! I know I complain about the weather too often in these posts, but daaaaamn it's been bad lately. I was supposed to go on a short trip tomorrow and it looks like I might have to postpone it due to impending ice and snow, boo-hoo-hoo.

Anyway, enough whining. This week's question is actually one I asked a while back, but I want to ask it again because (a) the answers will always be different and (b) I'm nosy:

What's the very last thing you bought? Be specific! It doesn't have to be part of a proper shopping haul—it could be your lunch, a train ticket, etc.

My answer: I just bought three $10 gift cards off the Barnes & Noble website to tuck into birthday cards for some of the kiddos in my family. It's the 21st century version of all those $5 bills I got in birthday cards when I was a kid. Now don't spend it all in one place, y'hear?

  1. I feel you on the weather whining. Normally winter doesn't bother me but this year's has been brutal. Especially with driving, I almost had a guy collide with me head-on today because he was driving like a maniac! Anyway, the very last thing I bought was an Eco Emi Mystery Beauty Box!

  2. Winter in my part of the world has been fairly mild, thankfully. I think we've had maybe ten days of snow throughout the last three months, and it always melted by morning. Today was delightfully sunny! But also windy. The last thing I bought was a Lumie sunrise clock. Really hoping it's worth the money.

  3. I bought a Costco hot dog & pizza slice for $3.50 because times are hard and you can't beat that price! :)

  4. I just bought a soy cappuccino from Starbucks... we just moved and I needed an excuse to come and use the wifi! ^^

  5. I bought some spray bottles from Target for a DIY project that also went on my blog. This is a good one! I like this question! It actually snowed again where I live last night! It has been melting slowly today, but there's still snow on the ground. Very strange here.

  6. I do not envy your need to drive in the winter. Ugh. I don't even like being a passenger in a car after bad weather, because people are slipping and sliding and doing all sorts of craziness. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your Eco Emi box!

  8. $3.50 is pretty hard to beat for that much food! I was going to be all like "I wonder what I could get around here for $3.50?" but then I remembered that the local Costco is within walking distance from here, duhh. Hot dogs don't really fit in with the whole vegetarian thing I've got going on, but I'm sure there are other incredible edibles to be had...

  9. I've bought many Starbucks coffees around the world for the same reason, haha! Hope you're settling in well.

  10. I can imagine. My dad (who lives in Georgia) called me up the other day and complained because he actually had to wear a heavy coat outside, lol. Sounds like the weather is crazy all over the place.
