Weekly Poll | Seasonal Im-Pedi-Ments

Happy Wednesday, everybody!

Foot art via

This week's question was inspired by my mother, whom I'm visiting this week. (It was her 66th birthday yesterday. Happy birthday, crazy cat lady!) She was telling me how much she's looking forward to wearing sandals this spring, but lamenting how much work she'd have to do to get her feet un-dry and un-gross in preparation. Which brings me to my question...

Do you ignore your feet during the winter because they're hidden inside shoes and socks all the time? Or do you take extra care to make sure they're moisturized and pedicured? Or something in between?

Personally I do make a point of keeping mine moisturized, simply because I hate the feeling of dry skin. But full-on pedicures... nah, probably not. My tootsies might need a little prettying up before sandals season, but they don't look like full-on "hobbit feet" as my ma calls them. (Now I know who to give my extra foot peeling masks to!) How about you?

  2. That's basically what I do too. Glad to hear you don't have hobbit feet, lol. My mom has such a way with words.

  3. I can't remember the last time I had a full on spa pedicure - it's that long! haha. I do however make sure to take care of my feet because I too, hate that dry, coarse feeling. I have foot mint balm that I use and then exfoliate them once or twice a week. Winter this year was really bad and my feet took a beating. I need one of those peeling masks for sure.

  4. I pretty much ignore my feet all year round! It's bad. I mean, I'll put lotion on them and then some fuzzy socks after the shower, but I don't exfoliate them nearly as much as I should.

  5. I just got a pedicure this past weekend...but mostly because a friend asked me to go. I don't really get many pedicures during the winter months, but get a few every summer.

  6. I think my feet are the lowest of my priorities. However, if I'm going on vacation or theres an event and I'm wearing open toe shoes, then yes, I'll get a pedicure. Other than that... not much :\ Clippers and an occasional foot mask are all I use.

  7. Oh me neither. I don't think I've had a proper spa pedicure in at least a decade. The mint foot balm sounds like more than I do now though. I kind of just scrub them in the shower and slap on some moisturizer! I've done a couple of foot peels now and they're gross but satisfying. :)

  8. Lotion is better than nothing! I should probably scrub mine more diligently than I do. They're not super-gross, but they could be softer.

  9. Nice! It makes more sense to get them during the summer, since your feet are probably actually out and about more.

  10. Me too. In terms of priorities, the order goes face, upper body, lower body, and then finally feet. At least they sometimes get the leftover moisturizer my face doesn't like!

  11. I try to keep my feet looking good (well as good as feet can look), although it was hard this past winter when I was so sick with bronchitis. Every time I tried to paint a toenail, I would have a coughing fit. So I gave up and didn't give myself a pedicure for a couple of months.

  12. Ohhh that's terrible. Coughing fits and nail polish just don't mix.

  13. Happy Birthday to your wise and wonderful mom!

I give myself a pedicure when I feel like it. I do keep the feet moisturized and such. But I admit I keep the nails natural. Once in a blue moon I will paint my toenails. However, that is rare because the last time I did, my friends pet turtle thought my toe was some kind of food! I guess the vampy burgundy painted nail looked like some bean to eat!!

  14. Mmm delicious toenails! I haven't painted mine in I don't know how long. I probably should, since there are no turtles around to eat my feet.
