Weekly Poll | Smells Like Pretty

Happy Wednesday, everybody! How's life treating you?

This week's question was inspired my boyfriend Stan, who seems to be completely obsessed with coconut-scented things at the moment. He actually bought himself a tube of scented body wash—something I don't think I've ever seen happen since we've been living together. He always steals my nice-smelling shit instead of buying his own, but I don't have much coconut-scented stuff at the moment, so there you go.

Do you have a favorite scent in skincare or body care products? Floral, fruity, sweet? Something more specific like lavender and green tea? Or are you an unscented sort of person?

I like a lot of different scents, but I think my all-time favorite for skincare is the smell of roses. I mist myself with rosewater all the time, tch tch tch! I know some people don't like rose and think it smells sort of old-ladyish, but that's OK. Give it all to me. (And Stan, because he "borrows" my rosewater too.)

  3. I hate floral scents lol I like sweet and fruity perfumes. Coconuts are good :) and cocoa butter is my go to scent for lotion.

  4. I've always been kind of on the fence about banana scents. I think it's a leftover aversion from childhood, lol. But rose and coconut are at the tippy-top of my list!

  5. Cocoa butter does smell pretty nice. I know florals aren't for everyone... more for me. :)

  6. I love warm scents, anything that reminds me of winter or fall -- cinnamon, vanilla, pine (maybe that one isn't so warm, but it's wintery) for candles, etc. As far as perfumes, Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee is my all-time fave!

  7. I really dig those types of scents in fall/winter. Maybe not as perfume, but definitely in the form of home fragrance. We went through a lot of cinnamon candles this year, lol.

  8. I really love perfume. I really like spicy, floral, and sweet scents, but maybe not all in one fragrance! I prefer my lotions to be unscented, so they don't compete with my fragrance.

  9. That's probably wise. I have some scented lotions, but I try not to use them at the same time unless the scents are complimentary (e.g. coconut lotion and fruity perfume)
