Weekly Poll | Unbundle Up

Happy Wednesday, everybody!

I've been grumbling a lot about the weather this season, but now that winter is actually sort of easing up, I'm already making plans for things to do outside. Call it sunshine deprivation madness or something. So I ask you:

What are your favorite warm weather activities?

Simple enough. "Warm" can also mean stuff you do in the summer. I have quite a few, but do you know what I've been missing the most lately? Going on picnics. Either at the park or more exotic locations. The last one I had was in October (I think), and it was really too late in the year for that sort of thing—our hands were freezing even though I brought along two thermoses of hot tea.

Anyway. What are you looking forward to doing this spring and summer? Or if summer is just ending in your part of the world, what will you miss the most?

  1. We're looking forward to going to the zoo! The little man is 4 now (ahh!) so I think he'll enjoy it even more this year than he did in the past.

  2. I miss just being able to go outside! It's 40 here right now which feels like a freaking heat wave. It was so nice to be able to go outside and not need 3 extra layers of clothing!

  3. Horseriding! Although I don't actually ride anymore, I used to love riding in summer. We'd often splash through rivers, or go for a ride near a beach. Buuuut, since I probably won't be riding this summer, I'd like to go to the zoo. I haven't been to the zoo in yonks.

  4. Sounds like fun! I haven't been to a zoo in a long time, but I think the last time I went was with my nephews (one of whom was about four at the time). He had a blast, as I recall! Even eating crappy food from the zoo food court was exciting, lol.

  5. Ooh, 40! That's downright BALMY! I was shocked when I went out today because it was around 55 and sunny. I didn't even need a heavy coat, gasp. I think it will get colder tomorrow though. :(

  7. Me neither. I've never gone horse riding, but I do love splashing through the beach on my own, lol.

  8. Is NYC picnic central? LOL! We're lucky because we live right near a park now. Most of our local picnics take place in city parks... without a car it's sort of hard to get to more remote, scenic spots.

  9. I love going camping, and even though we usually tote the RV around instead of going tent camping, I still get a thrill from it. I think my family bonds every single time we go. It's not like we just stay in the camper all weekend long; we're basically outdoors all day doing things like swimming, walking/exploring, playing badminton or card games, grilling, and really just enjoying the weather. And just because we take a camper doesn't mean we love the outdoors any less. We just have access to the TV and a bathroom whenever we want (usually) haha.

  11. That sounds like a lot of fun! I've never gone RV camping, but as someone who enjoys using a proper toilet, I see the appeal. :) Anything that gets you away from your normal routine is probably a good opportunity for bonding.

  12. Gardening.

I can't tell you the last time I went on a picnic. I should plan one.

  13. Not surprised your answer is gardening! Your garden looks amazing. Maybe you can have a picnic in your garden.
