This month's theme was "Summer Night Out."
I enjoy looking colorfully cool. Especially when I'm passed out in front of the air conditioner.
Nanacoco Nail Polish in Hope of Spring (Full size/0.5oz, value $3.00):
Assorted colors sent at random. A shimmery seafoam green nail polish. I've tried a couple of Nanacoco polishes through Beauty Box 5 and the results are usually the same—pretty colors, VERY strong smell. Use in a well-ventilated room. That said, I really like this color... it reminds me of the ocean.
Love Life Skin Restorative Night Cream & Intensive Recovery Serum (4x 1ml packets, approximate value $2.56):
According to the info card, the Love Life Skin line was originally developed to help chemotherapy patients' sensitive skin recover—interesting. As for me, it's hard to really draw conclusions from these small packets, but I can tell you what I did observe: The serum is on the thick side, sort of like a moisture milk or thin lotion. It's pretty hydrating though and smells very nice... like fresh roses. The night cream is a bit on the thick side (as you would expect) and has less of a distinct scent. I wish I had more to experiment with!
Pur~lisse Flash Tattoos (1 sheet, value $9):
Flash tattoos are so fun and perfect for summer! These have been pretty trendy for the past year or so so I'm guessing most of you know what they are, but if not, they're basically metallic temporary tattoos modeled after jewelry. I wouldn't wear these to the office or something, but they're fun for jazzing up bare skin on an evening or weekend out.
OFRA Lip Gloss in Natural (Full size/8g, value $12.95):
Assorted colors sent at random. A nude lip gloss with gold micro-glitters. The texture is more moisturizing than sticky, which is nice.
OFRA Lip Liner in Mauve (Full size/0.04oz, value $13.00):
Assorted colors sent at random. A classic pencil liner in a brownish-nude color. This was quite a bit darker than I expected it to be, but I can see it being useful for folks who enjoy wearing nude or brown-toned lip colors.
Total box value: Approximately $40.51
This month's Beauty Box 5 certainly delivered in terms of value—three full-sized makeup items and a sheet of flash tattoos ain't bad. I would have loved to experiment more with the Love Life Skin serum a bit more just because it smelled so nice, but what can you do?
It's hard for me to get too excited about the OFRA products because they're really not my colors, but for the nude lovers out there, this box would be a total win. I'll definitely be rocking the Nanacoco polish and flash tattoos though.
