This month's theme is "Primped."
I do got this, girl.
Pur~lisse PurMoist Hydra-Balance Moisturizer (0.5oz sample, approximate value $16.18):
Oh, Pur~lisse. I've seen you in so many beauty boxes, yet you continue to amuse me with your unnecessary tilde. That said, I do think this is a nice moisturizer for daytime use—it's hydrating without feeling overly oily. I'm not going to lie though, I think it's a bit expensive for what it is. Slash your prices in half and we'll t~alk, Pur~lisse.
Hask Macadamia Oil Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment (1.75oz, value $2.99):
I really like Hask's treatments—they're affordable and great to use as occasional hair masks. Makes hair shiny and easier to comb. There's also a generous amount in each packet, so if your hair isn't very long or thick you can probably get two treatments out of each one—score!
Donnamax Printed Nail File with Case (Value $1.99):
Hmm. I normally find printed nail files sort of charming, but somehow I find the sentiment on this one... creepy. Is it the pin-up lady hanging around in her bra? Or the fact that I've met many, many men I would never ever ever want to tweet? I don't know. In any case, the travel case makes this file super-handy, so I'll definitely be throwing it in my purse to saw off any hangnails that may arise. Or brandish as a weapon against anyone I don't want to tweet with.
Jerome Alexander Hot Stuff Go Pop Palette (Value $10.99):
You know this palette is hot stuff because it's printed with the words HOT STUFF... and now I can't get the Donna Summer song out of my head. Oh, but what's in the palette, you ask? It's... more hot stuff! (AKA makeup)
Lip gloss, eyeshadow and little applicator brushes with a MASSIVE mirror! And I do mean massive—this thing is only about 4" wide, but weighs a whopping 6 ounces thanks to that hefty case. Perfect for surviving a tumble in your backpack on the way to the 7th grade semi-formal.
Starlooks Luxe Longwear Eyeliner in Plum (Value $19):
A felt-tip pen type eyeliner in a plummy PURPLE color! Hooray for colors. (Seriously, I could build a raft out of all the black eyeliners I've received in beauty boxes.)
Unfortunately this liner feathered on my eyelids too—bummer, because I like the color. Oh well.
Total box value: Approximately $51.15
I love HASK hair masks and wanted to love the eyeliner, but otherwise I'm not sure how well the other items match with my aesthetic. I feel like this would be a fun box for a younger teen who was headed off back to school though... the mini moisturizer, travel nail file and tank palette certainly scream "throw me in your bag!"
