Hands up if you're still on the hunt for a couple of last-minute holiday gifts (me me me!) One of my favorite things to give the women in my life is pampering treatments—unlike clothing or jewelry, you don't have to worry about whether or not they will be her size or style, and pretty much everybody likes being pampered. I recently had the opportunity to test out Amopé's new Pedi Perfect Extra Coarse Electronic Foot File and Electronic Nail Care System, and I think they're absolutely perfect for "treat yo self" style gift giving: Unlike spa gift certificates they can be used multiple times, and they're small enough to travel with—perfect for the gal on the go! Today I'll be sharing a little info on what these gizmos do plus how to get a $5 off coupon.
Amopé Electronic Nail Care System
The Electronic Nail Care System is essentially a three-step nail buffing system. It has a battery-operated body with three removable heads with different levels of coarseness.
Step one (blue) is for filing and shaping the nails, step two (mint) is for buffing out ridges and whatever, and step three (white) has a very fine grit for a giving nails a natural-looking, pretty shine.
The device can be used on both fingernails and toenails. Personally I find the system much easier to use than manually buffing my nails—the process can be sort of tedious, and Amopé takes a lot of work out of the equation. Just press the button and go!
Amopé Pedi Perfect Extra Coarse Electronic Foot File
Amopé is perhaps best known for their original foot file (with the blue handle), which buffs away dead skin with the flip of a switch. Their famous foot file is now available with an extra-coarse head made with Diamond Crystals (on a pink handle as pictured below).
Here's a quick video demo of how it works:
All you have to do is rotate the file over the areas of your feet with dead skin, and it does the rest. I used it on my heels (which tend to get very hard and dry around this time of year) and it didn't hurt at all, but I could see piles and piles of white skin flaking away as the Foot File worked its magic—kind of gross but very satisfying. The end result is smoother, softer feet that don't stick to the insides of your socks because the skin is so rough (I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about.)
Here's a quick before and after shot of my heel after a few minutes with the Foot File:
As you can see my feet look smoother and less crusty. (Sorry if you don't like looking at pictures of crusty feet, by the way.)
Sound interesting? Right now you can get a printable coupon for $5 off either device by visiting this link. Both of them can be found at a variety of retailers for under $50, making them a relatively affordable last-minute gift. (I spotted the Foot File in my local Bed Bath & Beyond for $39.99, just to give you example of a place to look for them.) Personally I grabbed another one of the Nail Care Systems to use as a gift—bundle it together with some fun socks plus foot and/or hand cream and you've got yourself a nice little pamper gift basket!
What do you think of the Amopé Pedi Perfect devices? Would you enjoy getting one of these systems as a gift? Let me know in the comments!
