That sounds like something my mom would do - she's constantly saying stuff like "You and your sister are going to have to fight over my jewelry when I die!" Thanks ma. I think getting sentimental over jewelry you bought for yourself is totally cool - I didn't really buy much jewelry in my travels, but there are some other little knick-knacks I picked up that are meaningful to me.Rebecca B. I don't think either of my grandmothers wore a lot of jewelry, but when my dad's mom passed away he ended up with her set of "good" china, which we used every year at Thanksgiving. I'm not sure how fancy the set actually was, but it was their way of honoring her around the holidays, I guess.Rebecca B. I promised I wouldn't lose it and she relented. I wore that every single day of my middle school through high school years and only took it off when I went to college. I don't wear it anymore, but it reminds me of her and my youth.Karen @ Unpack the Boxhttp://www.unpackthebox.net/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2911674580773813945.post-30596639242953501792014-05-07T22:23:22.242-04:002014-05-07T22:23:22.242-04:00Haha atleast that key necklace isn't lost. I have worn it every day since the day I got it. Aside from my wedding band and engagement ring, I also have a ring that was my grandmothers and a necklace that was hers too. She passed when I was 7 so I don't remember her that well. I was given her angel necklace when she died. Her angel necklace was given to her by her brother and I wore it everyday as a child until the clasp broke. My mom also gave me my grandmother's ring that says love on it with a diamond in the O. I used to wear that alot too when I was younger. My last sentimental piece is a white gold and diamond key necklace that my husband bought me for valentines day years ago.Tanya Loveterenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2911674580773813945.post-24679303845846260792014-05-07T19:24:02.980-04:002014-05-07T19:24:02.980-04:00I hope someday you'll find out if that key lea...I hope someday you'll find out if that key leads to locked treasure! That's a sweet story.

I still have a pair of silver, feather-shaped earrings from my first love. He came to visit my house late at night on my 17th birthday and gave them to me because I was sick with strep throat and couldn't go out to celebrate. That was 10 years ago, but the earrings are still in the original box, also with a braided bracelet he made for me when we first started dating. I can't believe I kept both. I don't really like to wear it now because when I put it on, I think morbid thoughts about how she might die soon. Most of my jewelry is just random stuff I liked and bought for myself. I do have this necklace from Tibet that is like the 3rd most expensive thing I own after my car and laptop, and I get a little sentimental when I wear it because it reminds me of my incredible trip there!Lisa @ Ameliorer la Vienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2911674580773813945.post-33491204332249594082014-05-07T17:54:18.493-04:002014-05-07T17:54:18.493-04:00I have a ruby ring that was my gran's that I i...I have a ruby ring that was my gran's that I inhertied and a heart locket my parents gave me for my 21st. My husbands gran passed two rings down to me - her wedding ring to my husbands granddad who died when my OH was little (which I always wear on on my right hand) and another ring he gifted to her which I wear as my wedding ring. She's now passed away, and of course I have all of her "real" jewelry. My favorite is a dainty yellow gold necklace her father gave her on her wedding day to my dad. She wore it pretty much everyday. She's been gone for a while, but it still makes my heart hurt a little when I hold it.KPsaysnoreply@blogger.com
