If I was a bit quiet on the blogging front this week it's because I was doing a bunch of stuff to celebrate my upcoming birthday. Which finally came today... sort of.
Bit of a candle vs. frosting mishap there, but it'll do. |
I was actually born on February 29th, but since that day doesn't happen every year you kind of have to pick a day to celebrate and go with it. Or just celebrate all week because it's approximately birthday-time (which is how I like to do it). Most of my family and friends seem to wish me a happy birthday on February 28th, so that's when the cake happens (though I suppose legally I won't turn another year older until tomorrow...)
Coincidentally, this is my 200th post on this blog... sort of. I deleted the first-ever post on this blog when I changed the name because it didn't make sense anymore, but close enough. Anyway, I just wanted to thank everybody who reads my blog regularly - your comments make my day! No other point to this post really, just saying hi and recording a couple of numerically significant things for posterity.
Cake? Cake.
Happy Birthday Love!
ReplyDeleteI was just talking about leap year birthdays with someone at work today! Can I ask like, what does your driver's license say??? Do they go based off calendar years so you can get into bars without hassle?
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
ReplyDeleteMy driver's license and passport say I was born on February 29th, because that's what it says on my birth certificate. But if it expires in a non-leap year year then the expiration date is usually February 28th. I'm actually not sure how it would work for people trying to get into bars for the first time... the year I turned 21 my birthday was in the middle of the week so I didn't have a party until a couple of days later, so I never got to test it. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!!
ReplyDeleteThank you kindly!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! And those cupcakes...
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, girl! :)

Happy Birthday, Rebecca! Guess what? I'm 30 in a few days, too. I'm worried this means I have to "grow up".... Nooooo! ;) Hope you had an awesome day, and also a big congrats

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I've always thought February 29th birthdays were awesome. Like Sample Hime says, you can go around saying you're like seven. Lol.

ReplyDeleteCelebrate all week? You should have celebrated all month! Happy birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :) The cupcakes tasted good, despite the frosting mishap...
ReplyDeleteThank you very much dear! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! And it's true.. I've gone through 30 years of my life and still only met a couple of other leap year birthday people...
ReplyDeleteThanks! I don't feel any more "grown up" then I did a few days ago, so no pressure. :) And happy early birthday to you!
ReplyDeleteYou got it! Yet somehow that looks weirder on a cake...
ReplyDeleteI do, and my nephews think it's hilarious that I'm "younger" than the eldest of them!
ReplyDeleteWow, I am the first one? Well thanks for the birthday wishes!
ReplyDeleteAll month? How about all year? Then I'd never have to stop celebrating...
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kate, you should have celebrated all month. And those cupcakes look absolutely delish! ~tosses confetti~ Happy Birthday!

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!! I'm a March 1st baby, myself (woo, it's my birthday!), so I totally understand the cusp weirdness -- although not quite as well as you! Hope it was lots of fun.

ReplyDeleteTime flies, eh? The last five years have been sort of a blur. Thanks for the birthday wishes though. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I would hope your aunt is older than me, unless time travel is somehow involved... LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks (ish)!
ReplyDeleteWhenever I meet someone with a February 28/March 1st birthday I wonder if they're really secretly a leap year baby who's rounding up or down for convenience. :) But anyway, happy birthday to you too!
ReplyDeleteHaha, it's funny you should say that... I grew up hearing "It makes so much sense" quite a bit. Should I be amused or offended? :P
