A wee review of a wee product: Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick Duo in Tangerine/Lingonberry

Last week I got myself a very small haul from Sephora in early celebration of my birthday. (What's smaller than a haul? A lug?) Amongst the goodies was one of Bite Beauty's Luminous Crème Lipstick Duos, which I've already grown quite fond of, so I thought I'd take a moment to share the loveliness of it with you here today.

Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick Duo in Tangerine/Lingonberry

The Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick Duo is limited edition and currently available in two color combos on Sephora.com: Fig/Date (neutral) and Apricot/Lingonberry (vivid). I naturally went for the latter of the two, being the bold and sassy lady that I am. The duo contains 0.05oz of each color and retails for $12 (so $120 per ounce). Now, 0.05oz is quite a small amount of lipstick (think deluxe department store samples), but if you do the math this is actually quite a good deal relative to other Bite Beauty products—the full-sized, single-color Luminous Crème Lipsticks retail at $24 for 0.15oz, so about $160 per ounce).

Here's what the tube looks like (pictured next to a bobby pin for size reference):

Both caps snap securely onto the tube, so you don't have to worry too much about them slipping off in your purse.

Tangerine is a very vivid orangey coral color. Lingonberry is sort of a rosy/vivid berry color. Both shades are very creamy, non-drying, and highly pigmented (with a little bit of shine). I have to say, Bite Beauty does moisturizing lipsticks really well—a lot of non-matte formulas wear off on me after an hour or two, but these last for several hours if I'm not eating or drinking. There is a little bit of transfer if you try to drink or kiss something, but you won't wear off all of your lipstick just by sipping on a glass of water, for example.

So far I have no complaints ab
out the Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick Duo, but I am a bit concerned that I'll accidentally break the lipsticks one day if I'm not careful. Wee lipsticks + creamy formula = a higher chance of breakage, I think. Best to be gentle! I'd still recommend this just because the colors and formula are so great though, and $12 probably isn't a major splurge for most of the makeup addicts out there reading, so if you like what you see, grab it while you still can!

What do you think of this Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick Duo? Which of the two colors would you reach for first?

  1. I freakin love Bite lip products. They are amazing. There hasn't been one that I have been disappointed with. I have a couple of these and you def do need to be careful but considering how long it takes to use up one lipstick, I think the amount of product that you get isn't bad. I wish they made MORE of these since the full sized products are pretty expensive. I tried to snag some at Christmas but all the ones that I wanted were sold out. I love both colors but the Lingonberry is probably one that I would gravitate to more often. El and I are going to the Bite Beauty Lip Lab and make our own lipsticks when we go to NY in April!

  2. Ooh, I like these! Especially the Tangerine color. I also am 100% for starting a "Sephora Lug" post trend!

  3. Fig/Date looks really love too! It was hard to decide between the two duos, for sure.

  4. I agree completely. I mean how often do you completely use up a full-sized lipstick anyway? Minis are awesome. Have fun at the Bite Beauty Lab! I've still never been. From what I've been told, it's wise to make an appointment first even though they supposedly accept walk-ins.

  5. Haha yes, lugs-for-life! I just got a Sephora Flash subscription, so I'm sure there will be more mini "lugs" in my future, lol.

  6. I want the tangerine end so badly but the lingonberry end would be a fail on me. On the other hand, I own an awful lot of lipstick, probably even some in more or less that color (Lipstick Queen's Jungle Queen, maybe). I love Bite's products - I have a hard time finding colors of theirs that work well on me, but when I do find one, it's usually awesome.

  7. I was wondering about these! I think they had them around the holidays for $10 in different colors that were similar to lipsticks I already own. I like the vivid colored one, I may have to pick that one up!

  8. Oh I love both colors, they look gorgeous on you! I've been wanting to try this brand since last year and I have no idea why I keep forgetting to grab one already haha. I'm loving the brighter shades these days so might pick this duo up!

  10. Yeah I think their formulas are great! I thought the Tangerine color was going to look a lot better on me than the other one, but they both ended up working. Hard to tell sometimes from online photos...

  11. Yeah I think there were a bunch around the holidays! I'd say this is well worth $12, especially if you haven't tried Bite before. The formula really is superior to a lot of brands.

  13. Love Lingonberry- how pretty! I love double-sided products like that. Perfect for those who never finish a full lipstick too! Bite lipsticks are great. I will have to look at the Fig duo soon, as it has been on my wishlist for months. Thanks for the heads up on these!

  14. Yes, I wish more lipsticks were available as minis! It's so rare that I finish a whole one.

  15. Hey, happy birthday, Rebecca! These colors are great! I have one of the mini Bite duos, too (Lychee/Musk I think -- I'd have to go check), and I'm always afraid of breaking the bullet. I was considering the Fig/Date, but this duo looks awfully fun.

  16. They're just so wee! I'm being cautious and still haven't broken it.

  17. I have the first two duos they released and I just picked this one up and the other new one. I'm bringing all of them with me on a trip next month!

  18. They seem really perfect for travel! I have to go on a mini trip later this week and I'm definitely bringing this with me.
