Calling all rose lovers! Today I'm reviewing a cleansing oil that not only smells like roses, but also has actual chunks of rose floating in it. All rose, all the time. Like whoa. Meet RE:CIPE Rose Petal Cleansing Oil, your new favorite floral friend.

RE:CIPE Rose Petal Cleansing oil is priced at 25,000원 (~$21.20 USD) for 200ml on their official website, but if you're outside of Korea it can be purchased from a few different e-tailers for around $20 shipped. I got mine from trusted eBay seller blueprint21 for $19.06 shipped, but I'll list a few more possible sources at the end of the post. Edit: Memebox just added it to their site for $18!
OK, so the most amazing thing about this cleansing oil is obvious at first glance: There are big pieces of dried rose petal floating around in the bottle.
Does that improve the function of the oil in any way? Nope, but it looks super cool! Shake the bottle and watch those petals flyyyyyyyy!
Anyway. You use this just as you would any other cleansing oil: Pump out a squirt or two, massage onto dry skin to loosen up makeup and grime, then rinse (and follow with a foaming cleanser if desired).
Speaking of the pump... I kind of hate it. It's too "springy" (for lack of a better word), so oftentimes when I try to pump just a little bit of product out it ends up squirting me with oil. So I recommend (a) aiming it away from your body and (b) being careful when you pump. Not a dealbreaker, but mildly annoying.
As for performance: I consider this oil to be on the gentle and thin side, and definitely better suited to normal or dry skin than extremely oil. While it doesn't leave residue after rinsing per se, the fatty oils in it tend to impart a bit of moisture to the skin. It actually feels really nice, but in my opinions works better than a standalone cleanser than a pre-foaming makeup remover. That's not to say that it doesn't remove makeup (because it does so fairly well), but I like how soft and supple my skin feels after using it and don't want to disrupt that. So for me this has ended up being more of a post-sleep face-freshening cleanser instead of a nighttime makeup removal powerhouse.
So you're probably wonder, does it actually smell like roses? The answer is yes... AND HOW! A mixture of natural rose oil and added fragrance gives this stuff a completely over-the-top in-yo'-face floral experience, like being smacked repeatedly with a bag of potpourri. I mean, that is essentially what this stuff is anyway—a nourishing cleansing oil with a shit-ton of potpourri suspended in it. So I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I really love the smell of roses, so there are days when I crave the scent and others when I find it too cloying. So yeah, if you hate perfumey skincare or roses in general, stay away.
Overall I do recommend RE:CIPE Rose Petal Cleansing Oil though—the scent is probably a love it or hate it thing depending on your taste, but the formula of the oil is quite nice and leaves skin feeling soft of nourished without stripping it of all its moisture. Pretty nice for the price.

Oh, and RE:CIPE makes a green tea cleansing oil with floaty bits in it too—I don't really know much about it other than the fact that it exists, but it's another thing to check out if you like chunks in your skincare.
