Wondering what a Pink Bird is and why they get boxes? My reviews of past Pink Bird boxes are viewable here, if you're curious. One can't purchase or subscribe to this box, but of course you can pick up the items individually at an Etude House shop or via Etude House global website. Or trusty ol' eBay if you're looking for brand new, limited edition items. Unboxing time!

ETUDE HOUSE PRECIOUS MINERAL COVER & BRIGHT FIT BB CREAM new 2015

ETUDE HOUSE PRECIOUS MINERAL COVER & BRIGHT FIT BB CREAM ($12.40/25g):
Settle in, for I'd like to share a tale of BB cream woe with you. A few years ago, Etude House introduced a little BB cream called Precious Mineral Bright Fit—and it was amaaaazing (well, at least I thought so). It provided good coverage and a dewy finish that didn't look too greasy. Sadly that BB was discontinued a little while back, so I've been looking to find a replacement... and when they first announced Precious Mineral Cover & Bright Fit, I wondered if it could be "the one!"

Cover & Bright Fit is available in three shades: Light Beige/N02, Natural Beige/W13, and Honey Beige/W24. I received Natural Beige for review. Here's what it looks like on my pasty skin:

Natural Beige is obviously a hair dark for me, though it doesn't look totally ridiculous once it's fully blended out. Like most of the Etude House BB creams I've tried it has more of a yellow undertone than a pink or grey one, so if you're a yellow-toned person, you're in luck! But the question is... is it a dupe for the Precious Mineral BB Cream of yesteryear?

Unfortunately, no. The finish isn't quite as "luminous" as PMBB, but it is a good BB cream in its own right. The coverage is quite good for a BB cream—I tend to get red patches around my nose when my allergies are bothering me, and it conceals them nicely. It also holds up pretty well throughout the day on me. As you can see the consistency is sort of rich and creamy, but once blended it doesn't look shiny or greasy. The scent is similar to the other Etude House BB creams I've tried, sort of sweet and powdery. All things considered, pretty good!

ETUDE HOUSE COLLAGEN MOISTFULL SKINCARE

ETUDE HOUSE COLLAGEN MOISTFULL SKINCARE:
The Collagen Moistfull skincare line has been around for a while, but the whole line was updated for F/W 2015, so if you're tried products from this range in the past there may be some differences. The line as a whole is meant to keep skin moisturized, boasting hydrolyzed collagen and baboab water as the star ingredient. I received deluxe samples of four products:

Moistfull Collagen Facial Toner ($15.60/200ml):
Ingredients: Water, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Adansonia Digitata Fruit Extract, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol, Glycerin, Betaine, Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Bis-Peg-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Vp Copolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Carbomer, Potassium Hydroxide, Poloxamer 407, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Peg/Ppg-17/6 Copolymer, Phytantriol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Disodium Edta, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

The toner is thicker than water, but still very thin and slippery. It absorbs quickly.

Moistfull Collagen Emulsion ($15.60/180ml):
Ingredients: Water, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Butylene Glycol, Adansonia Digitata Fruit Extract, Glycerin, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Hydrogenated Poly(C6-14 Olefin), Polysorbate 60, Cyclohexasiloxane, Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Dimethiconol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sorbitan Stearate, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Vp Copolymer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Alcohol, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Poloxamer 407, Peg-100 Stearate, Phytantriol, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Disodium Edta, Fragrance

Korean emulsions are usually like light, slightly watery lotions, and this one is no exception. It's meant to be used after the toner, but before the cream.

Moistfull Collagen Essence ($20.40/80ml):
Ingredients: Hydrolyzed Collagen, Butylene Glycol, Propanediol, Alcohol, Betaine, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Water, Adansonia Digitata Fruit Extract, Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Bis-Peg-18 Methyl Ether Dimethyl Silane, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Stearic Acid, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Vp Copolymer, Poloxamer 407, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phytantriol, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Hydroxide, Fragrance

The essence (which is designed to provide additional moisture) feels even lighter to me than the toner—it's not 100% clear to me which steps are supposed to go before which, but based on the textures I would probably use the essence first, then toner, then emulsion, then cream.

Moistfull Collagen Cream ($20.40/75ml):

Ingredients: Hydrolyzed Collagen, Butylene Glycol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Cyclohexasiloxane, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Adansonia Digitata Fruit Extract, Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil, Betaine, Kaolin, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Pca Dimethicone, Dimethiconol, Glyceryl Stearate, Sodium Polyacrylate, Stearic Acid, Silica, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Vp Copolymer, Poloxamer 407, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Phytantriol, Ppg-5-Laureth-5, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Alcohol, Water, Disodium Edta, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

I was surprised to discover that this cream is actually a gel cream, not a super-rich creamy cream. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not what I expected. Further research has revealed that Etude House also makes a "deep" version of the cream, which I assume is richer.

Overall impressions: I think the Collagen Moistfull line is suitable for folks who want to layer some basic moisture into their routine. All four absorb fairly quickly and don't feel super oily, which is nice. I used all of the products together for a few days and found them suitable for hydrating my combo-leaning-dry skin, though I'm certain that as the cold weather deepens I will need additional moisture. (I usually use gel creams in the summer and rich creamy-creams in the winter, because my skin gets totally parched once the weather cools down and the indoor heating kicks on.) I haven't tried the Deep Cream so I can't really speak to its moisturizing abilities, but the regular gel-like cream is probably best for normal or combo skin types because it's on the lighter side. One other notable thing about these products is that they smell nice—sort of like lemons, I guess?

Anyway, if you like the sound of this Collagen Moistfull business I have some good news—Etude House sent lots and lots of samples this time, so I have extras to give away!
