Weekly Poll: Your Desert Island Makeup Brand

It's Wednesday... do you know where your children are? (Do they still use that tagline in PSAs? If not, I probably sound really creepy right now.)

Aaaaaanyway, Wednesday means it's time for another reader poll!

This week's question goes out to anybody who wears makeup - I'm guessing that's most of you?

If you were allowed to buy one and only one makeup brand for the rest of your life, which one would you choose and why?

Personally I would choose Revlon, which is interesting because they don't usually crack my list of HG or favorite products. But if we're talking about products for the ENTIRE FACE (and nails) they have reasonably good offerings throughout their line, including foundation that doesn't make me look ridiculously orange. And it doesn't hurt that they're affordable - if I'm stuck on this hypothetical deserted makeup island I'm still going to be watching my pennies, because that's just how I am.

Which brand would you guys choose? There can only be ONE!!!

  1. Interesting question, Rebecca! *o* Hmm... I'll probably stick with Makeup Forever. Definitely a bit pricier, but I always use the Mufe HD foundation and can't see life without it (so far, might change in the future hehe~).

    1. If that's your HG foundation then I totally understand! They have good offerings across the board too. Doesn't have to be drugstore pricing. :)

  2. Hmmmm that is a tough question! I was going to say BH Cosmetics for their palettes with such a diverse colour range, but then I realised I don't want to rely on them for all my skin needs.... I think I would either go with something like Kryolan or I would also go with Makeup Forever. Probably Makeup Forever though, since I think they have the best range of products. I also wouldn't mind spending a ton on a few products if I couldn't buy anything from any other companies.

    1. I do love the BH eyeshadow colors, but I don't really know much about their other offerings? I suppose it makes sense to spend a little more on a brand you love if you can't impulse buy random crap anymore. :P

  3. This is such a difficult question, but I'd probably go with Revlon too, they have a good range of products and, as you said, their foundation isn't orange! xx

  4. Oh god, how do you even choose?! I guess I would go with MAC, even though I'm not in love with any of their foundations, because they have so much versatility across the color spectrum. You'd be covered if you were feeling like a bold look or a neutral look. They have great lipsticks, great shadows, great blushes. And they have nail polish. So, yeah, I think? :)

    1. MAC seems like a sensible choice. They certainly have a wide variety of the basics!

  5. I would have to say Maybelline. Or Urban Decay for the shadows and lippies. Thinking about it made me realize how many different kinds of Maybelline products I use.

    1. Maybelline does have a lot of really decent stuff across the board! I considered saying them too, but I think I like Revlon slightly better.

  6. Guerlain4Lyfe. I choose Guerlain because they make my HG foundation (Tenue de Perfection), which for me, is the hardest makeup item to pin down. Plus meteorites! And all that Rouge G lipstick!

  7. I would say Estee Lauder because their eyeliner is godly. I like their BB cream too and I bet everything else they sell is good too. Plus I love their skincare stuff.

    1. Well, like Kat said, if you're only buying one foundation for the rest of forever it's probably OK to splurge a bit...

  9. I think I'd say Too Faced because my Sweethearts blush is my most beloved makeup item and blush is pretty necessary for me. Fun questions!
