Weekly Poll: Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Woo-hoo, it's Wednesday! Are you PUMPED?

Yeahhhh mehhhh. Time flies when you're having fun, right? Speaking of really fun ways to spend time, I'm due to dye my hair again soon. Which got me thinking ...

If you had to color your hair tomorrow, which shade would you choose? Assume that you have the help of trained professionals if you don't know how to do it yourself.

I'm thinking of switching things up and going for a very vibrant, not-quite-natural red again, but who knows, I may change my mind at the last minute. I'm fickle and the heat does weird things to my brain sometimes. How about you? Want to go Ronald McDonald with me?

  1. I would probably go some shade of red. I've ALWAYS wanted red hair. I tried to mess with my hair once though (ahem it was going platinum blonde I might add) and I ended up looking like I was in shock from something horrible I'd seen. Like when peoples' hair turns white. Luckily a friend fixed it up a bit but my hair grows so fast my darker roots grew out in like a week. UGH. I'll just keep these golden locks for now.

  2. I would get the Hot pink or lavender peek-a-boo highlights I've been craving.

  3. I'd get a walnut brown balayage :))...Red sounds cool though!

  5. I would say even more red than I have been going. Like Little Mermaid Red! It just sucks because the vibrancy would only last a few days...I got my hair done May 31st and to me...its almost completely muted back to a chestnut/auburn brown.

  6. I'd go back to blonde--it's a total pain to maintain, but it functions as a warning to people about my personality and life philosophy. I make more sense as a blonde. Do you feel like vibrant red matches your personality? I tried doing a Rita Hayworth color once. It was beautiful, but it didn't quite work with my skin.

  7. Do eeeeet! I've been coloring my hair red for years. It used to be a bright, kind of coppery red, but now I color it a deep red. I get tons of compliments on the color. Not my actual hair, but the color. :P

  8. Dark grey or white.
I have been trying to dye my hair dark grey for a month now. I dont want to bleach my hair since it is waist long and I had previously bleached it before. I have medium brown hair now and all the grey dyes I put in it do nothing at all! It is quite frustrating that one needs really light blond hair to be able to dye it a dark color, makes no sense!

  9. I still really want dark blue or purple hair, but my hairdresser said it'd cost upwards of $300 to get the years of black out and damage my hair horribly. Siiiigh.

  13. Base on my experience (of the years that I had color my own hair), if you want the you chosen dye hair color to be visible, bleaching the hair is somewhat pre-requisit (unless your hair is natural brown). Natural dark hair color to medium hair color can really have hard time to make the wishful color visible and reachable. Because, my natural hair color is dark brown and I bleach it to reach my chosen hair color to be very visible ü my current hair color is pink :D

  14. Not sure if it's available in your country, have you tried Manic Panic? Then use sulfate free shampoo ü hair color last more longer than using shampoo with sulfate :)

  15. I get my hair done at a salon. I'm too scared to dye my own hair. But this may help Rebecca! I use Redken Color Extend and don't think it helps much. I also use the Nexxus Color Assure serum which I didn't noticed a HUGE difference with either. My vibrancy only last for a week or two then fades into an auburn.

  16. Haha, why not? I suppose if I had the help of a professional I'd add in some purple too! I've done it myself before, but that's more work than I want to do this time. :P

  17. I think sulfate free shampoos help a little bit, but the only thing that totally keeps my hair from fading is not washing it as much, haha. Red is a bitch. I'm actually going to test the Nexxus Color Assure stuff after I dye it so I hope it helps a little!

  18. yeah I wash my hair every other day. I can't go longer than that. My hair gets greasy so quick. I'm interested to here your thoughts on Color Assure...

  19. Hiya Tanya ü don't be ;) I too, just like my first time, but there's always a first time right? :D Manic Panic is cool but a bit tricky when use first time ;) Just want to ask, are asian hair color available on your country? Like Palty and Prettia? These are Japanese brands and these are the two brands I use ü it's easy to use ü

  20. Hiya Rebecca, yeah! Hair done on professional are so expensive :( but when it's free, why not? :D

  21. I just googled them and you can buy them on amazon

  22. Hiya ü you can try those two brand if you want ü you can do it by your own ü if you are unsure, you can watch tutorial also on the youtube first :D those two are not as expensive like salon price but the output is as close as like you just got out from salon :D

  23. I'll have to check the tutorials out first. thanks!

  24. I use a toning shampoo already since I have white streaks.
I actually have some blond and light brown streaks mixed in with medium brown hair. I simply want them to go grey, but the dyes available here are not really suitable to dye brown hair grey. they are toners to make other colors more ashy.
I just ordered a bunch of products from the us though, hopefully they will be able to give my hair a grey look.

And as mentioned I dont want light grey I want it to be anthracite, almost black so bleaching it really light to get dark hair seems ridiculous to me

Red for sure! I've been slacking on my hair dying, but I'm going to recolor soon. I love Manic Panic Vampire Red.

  26. That's a classic! I kind of want something like that but I know it won't really register on my hair right now because it's dark. I used that and Ultra Violet to put streaks in my hair when it was bleached blonde though.

  27. More challenging when doing it on your own hahahaha

  28. Red makes my whole face look very red, unfortunately, but I'd love to pull out the bleach and go platinum again! I'm too lazy though :(

  29. I wish bleach was easier and less harsh on the hair. I enjoyed being a blonde.

I tried to go JLo brown but my dark hair refuses and goes orange even when I go to a pro. It will not cooperate. So this time I went red and used the Garnier Ultra Color and this red stays on and bright for weeks! Just did my roots with no bleach. I say do the red!! ;)

  31. Nice! I have definitely decided to do red, got the dye and everything. Now I just have to find a couple hours to do it! Hopefully mine doesn't turn orange. I'm not bleaching it this time, but the first time I ever did bleach it turned this really weird marigold yellow color, haha. :)
