Is it Wednesday already? Geez. Well, you know what that means: Time for another fascinating topic for you to ponder!
This week's question is for anyone who likes to paint pretty colors on their face:
Do you ever apply makeup right before bed?
This may seem like sort of an odd query, but I have come across posts by more than one blogger confessing to such acts recently, so I'm wondering if this a "thing" I'm just unaware of. Personally I tend to sleep with my face buried under every pillow and blanket within reach, so a face full of makeup would equal a pillow full of mess. But I do often apply perfume right before bed - not sure how logical that is since I'm probably not "appreciating" it whilst I'm snoring into my pillow, but it's a thing I do.
What about you? Do you ever apply makeup or other non-skincare cosmetics right before you go to sleep?
I always sleep with my bare face :) I heard that some Western celebrities do it for temptation reasons ;)
ReplyDeleteI do out of boredom :p but then I almost always take it off before sleeping. I regret wasting products like that but I continue to do it anyway...lol
ReplyDeleteOh hey! I picked up that clay paper mask you bought. :) Saw it at the store. Hopefully it's not as bad as my Banila Co experience...lol
The idea of doing that scares me so much. I always take off my makeup before bed, even if I come home at like 4 am after a night of partying.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, I'm sure I also rub my face on my pillow a lot too.
I can't say I've ever applied make up before bed, I don't even apply it sometimes when I wake up. But I don't have a tight relationship with make up anyway. I'm intrigued as to why you apply perfume though?!
ReplyDeletewow never thought girls would like to sleep withtheir makeup on, i always find it very uncomfortable :) but i feel like i would like to apply perfume... on my pillow so i could smell it, or maybe a pillow mist with lavender in it to help me sleep
ReplyDeleteI always take my makeup off before going to sleep, I can't imagine it's good for your skin to have makeup on 24/7 plus you must get really messy sheets!
ReplyDeleteWeeeeell, sometimes I put on something I want to test right before I'm about to wash up for the night, since I know I'll be washing it off. But I don't sleep with makeup on, under almost all circumstances (we all have a night or 2 where we can't!).

I'm guilty of playing around and applying (and then removing), some before bed, but I don't think I could stand to leave it on! My favorite part of the end of the day is wiping everything off my face and feeling nice and clean (almost as good as taking a bra off; it's such a relief!), so the idea of putting new makeup on and then sleeping in it gives me the willies. I have breakout prone skin as well, so that just sounds like a recipe for disaster! D: Plus, like others mentioned, your sheets would be so disgusting... Bleh!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I fall asleep before remembering to take off my makeup, but I never put it on before sleeping on purpose.

Same here! I just put on moisturizer if I'm feeling ambitious.
ReplyDeleteI suppose I do that occasionally too - but I remove it before bed. My skin breaks out like crazy if I fall asleep with makeup on.
ReplyDeleteCurious what you'll think of that mask! I doubt you'll have any flaking problems because the facial goo is covered with the cloth sheet, but who knows.
Yeah, me too. If I fall asleep wearing foundation my skin has epic breakouts, so I try my best to not let that happen.
ReplyDeleteI don't know... I think I find the scent relaxing. Like aromatherapy, except not really.
ReplyDeleteI have a lavender laundry mist meant for spraying on your bedding, and it is very relaxing. :)
ReplyDeleteYep, I agree! I would not want to try to get lipstick stains out of my pillow cases, lol.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I apply lipstick in the evening just for the hell of it! But I always wash it off before bed. Nothing wrong with some evening makeup playtime. :)
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean! I also like using masks and facial treatments sometimes at the end of the day, and that would obviously be silly to do over makeup.
ReplyDeletePS I already replied to some of your other comments, but welcome to my site! :)
I used to do that a lot, but my skin got angry. Haha.
ReplyDeleteLOL, yeaaaaah, sorry about that! I was digging through your blog posts today while I didn't have anything to do at work and I kind of went comment crazy. :)
ReplyDeleteOf course, I clean my face and put on moisturizers. I even put on lip balm and cuticle cream. But I do not apply makeup. I am notorious for painting my nails right before bed and end up with blanket prints on them :(
ReplyDeleteOh, I definitely suit up with the lotions and cream before bed too. I try not to paint my nails right before bed but I inevitably end up with a dent on one of my thumbnails because I decide to touch or grab something too soon. :/
ReplyDeleteUmm... that's very bizarre. Hooray for learning about new beauty products?
ReplyDeleteHey there!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is so cute!! Love your header :3
I know it's a deadly sin but when I'm really tired I sometimes sleep with my makeup.. but 80% of the nights I sleep with a bare face. It doesn't feel great to sleep with makeup!
Followed you on fb! If you want drop by :)
Oh, and I have a lot of spots and dark circles under te eyes but after six years I don't care anymore if my bf sees me that way hahaha! ;)
Thank you! I've also been guilty of falling asleep with makeup on... it's certainly not intentional when it happens. And yeah, after 3+ years of living with my boyfriend I don't think I care if he can see my dark circles. :P
ReplyDeleteI always put on perfume before bed.
ReplyDeleteBareMinerals used to make a nighttime treatment that was a mineral foundation type of thing (I don't think they make it anymore).
ReplyDeleteNo way!!!
ReplyDeleteOne of my old college roommates had a face powder that was meant for application before bed so to not reveal imperfections to your bed-mate... really weird.
ReplyDeletesometimes i put on loads of makeup really nicely... but i wash it all off and do a facial after. lol
